Rupert sets out his stall: Cometh the man...?
Has Rupert Lowe (elected as a Reform MP, now independent) got it all going on? Rupert uses this recent Spectator interview to set out his stall, and a pretty compelling pitch it is. He espouses most of the commonsense foundations we set out for WOTE when we first pondered a plan to fix broken British politics - MPs with real world experience, selection by merit alone. And frankly it won't take much more than the application of such commonsense to fix all the basics.
We will borrow this point from Rupert for the WOTE mantra:
"Britain is being run by unelected Permanent Secretaries who move cabinet members on just as they’re beginning to work out what’s going on in the Civil Service." (Shades of Dominic Cummings' curtailed mission to reform the Blob - but - remember who he was brought down by the Westminster blob for threatening them.
And he would get rid of spurious postal voting - and deny Labour the bloc vote.
This is REALLY important. If you do nothing else today, watch this... @RupertLowe10
He talks absolute sense about easing the useless remnants out of the Tory party - which sadly is more than half the remaining MPs.
But It must be time to start a drive to get him on the case because after all we have seen, Starmer's clown show is going to come crashing down soon; and the longer we wait to send the tumbrils into Downing Street, the more harm will be done - and the job will be more costly and challenging.
What's not to like?
"I don't care about quotas - select on ability"
Someone with chutzpah and presence has to rebuild the Conservative Party while there is still a remnant of an organisation to build on.
