Everyone on Twitter thinks they'll be brave and disobey any future blasphemy laws. Most won't though. A few will to begin with, but the police will round on them and there'll be exemplary prosecutions. People will go to jail, others will be heavily fined and publicly shamed. They'll pick you off one by one, and if you've got anything to lose, you'll self-censor.&nbsp;There will be some online protest (as there's been over Sam Melia), but the media will go into full character assassination mode so however noisy the protest, it will be written off as far right activism - and the likes of the Free Speech Union will stay quiet on the matter.&nbsp;The authorities will be clever about this. They won't provoke a mass protest by bagging everyone with a spicy opinion. If you're below the line, with just few followers, you'll get away with it, and they won't go after anyone who would otherwise become a free speech martyr. They'll do it quietly and selectively, initially bagging people who are already regarded as "far right" so as to dampen public sympathy. They'll then start leaning on social media companies to suspend accounts or shadow-ban them.&nbsp;We can expect cautious condemnation of this from the likes of Farage and Reform, but I don't imagine there will be a full-throated defence of freedom of speech because Farage always stays inside the lines. Like him or loathe him, the only hope we have is if Tommy Robinson can mobilise a mass demonstration.<h3>In the past I've been indifferent about Tommy Robinson, and often critical of his methods, but we're past all that now.</h3>Our only salvation will be to mobilise the British spirit of defiance (if it still exists) and TR lot will be key to that. If Labour attempts to install the APPG definition of Islamophobia into law, then we're all going to have to drop our petty differences and get behind him. I'm sorry I took so long to realise this.&nbsp;This has always been debated as something for far in the future, but what we're seeing in this election is the foundations being laid for an Islamist takeover of British politics.&nbsp;The Muslim Vote organisation is engaged in a highly coordinated campaign to put enemies of British liberty in parliament, and they're going to succeed. This is just the beginning but by 2029 they will have their ducks in a row and could even have dozens of MPs. They have already made the Labour Party their gimp on a leash. Starmer might land an impressive majority this time around, enough to keep the Islamists at arms length, but as Labour tanks in popularity, he will turn to them to stay in power, and they will make their demands. They'll do it piecemeal, but they'll keep going until they get everything they want.&nbsp;This, incidentally, is why I'm so critical of Reform. They keep playing it safe, and they haven't done their homework. Unlike the Muslim Vote, they don't have a set of equivalent demands for a time when they wield leverage over the Tories. The Islamists know how to play the game, but the British right is just playing at it. The Islamist enemy is playing the long game, they are better organised, and have a ruthlessly efficient ground game, when all Reform has is an ageing rabble-rouser. Having an intellectual foundation, and a coherent set of demands is absolutely pivotal to movement-building and you can't wing it with populist tropes. The Islamists are showing us how it is done. We need to learn from them. But there will be no equivalent movement-building under Farage because he's always winging it.&nbsp;<h3>This is very rapidly becoming a national emergency, and these could be the last years of Britain as a liberal democracy. This could be what puts us on the road to civil war, as our politics is completely colonised by foreigners.</h3> This is why we need to be super careful about handing Labour a supermajority. I appreciate the seductive nihilist sentiment of "zero seats", but in the next parliament we need every ally we can find. If Farage is determined to run Reform as an incompetent civnat/populist party with no plan, then we are likely to be completely outmanoeuvred by the enemy. We can't afford to play it safe any more.<h2> The line has to be drawn here.</h2>

It is really important to start making it plain to the blob (and presumptive elites) that when the votes are counted and Reform have more votes than any party other than Labour - but only a handful of seats then ALL voters will take to the streets of Westminster and demand a complete rethink of the electoral system.(**Aftermath note: maybe the most stark illustrations of the easily gamed electoral system is the number of votes needed byLiberal Democrats to win 71 seats; and then the fact that 20% of the population has given labor 60% of the seats in the House of Commons is a constitutional malfeasance of the highest degree. The sectarian vote that gave four seats to Hamas supporters is a further reminder that the system is fundamentally fooked.) It will be impossible to escape the obvious fact that is an outrageous embarrassment, and not merely no longer "fit for purpose". And Never mind postal vote fraud. So we should start NOW to demand that Starmer's glaringly illegitimate government should be postponed for 6 months. That would be enough time for a new phone/internet voting system to be discussed, trialled and implemented.&nbsp; It's not nearly as big a task as those that don't want any sort of PR or change will try and pretend. The only reason why a politician might not want to clear away the embarrassment could be that their party benefits unfairly from retaining the "traditional" fraud. The illegitimate election

The problem with the BBC is that, traditionally, its university educated journalists (back when a university education meant something) were smarter and better connected than the average viewer. Fast-forward to today when we have greater expertise at our fingertips, more time and willingness to be informed, and a greater mistrust of prestige sources, BBC audiences are likely to have a broader range of influences and experiences than the average BBC hack who spends most of their time talking to politicians and other journalists inside the same square mile, week in, week out.We now find that the best analysts and commentators are from outside the traditional media because they utilise audience interaction to learn and grow, when the average BBC "transmit-only mode" hack believes the audience are low intelligence, and must, for their own benefit, be protected from alternative sources. This is how we got a class of modern journalist that believes in censorship, and that they alone possess the critical faculties to decide what is and isn't a legitimate source.This is how modern journalism has become an object of ridicule. They genuinely don't have the first idea how out of the loop they are, or how anachronistic their methods are. The information revolution was something that just happened to other people. We now have a class of intellectually incurious "citizen of nowhere" journalists who have no idea what makes Britain tick, no idea how anything works, and no particular desire to find out. Ed Conway is perhaps the only one close to an inquisitive mind among the entire lot of them.&nbsp;The saddest thing of all, is that I could have written this at virtually any point in the last fifteen years. Social media is not a new thing, nor is the internet. They haven't evolved in the slightest. Through the use of their inherited institutional prestige, they continue on in their own start-up vessels, speaking only to a very narrow audience of metropolitan liberals, producing self-congratulatory confirmation bubble drivel without the slightest hint of self-awareness.The good news is that they are a dying creed. Their continued presence in the media landscape is the toxic legacy of terrestrial media monopolies, but this can't last forever and they're the last generation. Marianna Spring is their latest and last attempt to manufacture a young clone of themselves, and she's widely ridiculed and, rightly, treated with contempt. Independent media leaves them standing. You get more informative and interesting content from @BritishThgtLdrs and @nickdixoncomic , and there will be more like them. And though GB News is televisual chewing gum, you're still more likely to be exposed to different ideas and perspectives than the BBC equivalent, which is no longer capable of prioritising actual news. The sooner Sky TV and the BBC are wound up, the better off we will be.

BBC: social engineering - not honest reporting

Pete North is what we believe is known as "a blunt Northerner..." But in the range of disasters waiting to happen, Starmergeddon takes some beating. Reform will crash and burn eventually. Of this I am absolutely certain. I am not wrong about this. There are two strategies available to an insurgent party. The first is to build a movement, which through its own political might breaks into the mainstream and builds on it to become a serious contender for government.&nbsp;To do that, though, you have to be more than just a flamboyant one-man-band operation. You need ideological roots and a sense of purpose. Without it there is no unity later down the line, and the moment you win power, it all falls apart.&nbsp;You also need a national organisation with competent management. You can't win without an effective local ground game. You need a top team with credible people who can argue and defend policy. It cannot rest on one man, especially one without any self-discipline, who makes it up on the fly. It can withstand a novelty act like Farage, so long as there is some part of the leadership that knows how and when to get serious.Reform has nothing like this, and is unlikely to acquire it under Farage. We know this from experience. Farage likes to be surrounded by uncomplicated, agreeable people who'll be compliant members of his entourage. He won't elevate talent from within the party because he feels threatened by it, so the top team is only ever going to be Farage and his gang, making it up on the fly.Don't get me wrong, you can get pretty big as a populist protest party, but pretty big is no use if your goal is power, and you can't expand beyond that. From there, there's nowhere to go but gradually down, then into oblivion. Generic populism as the basis of a movement simply cannot win. It gets dragged down by its own contradictions and lack of attention to detail - especially when there's no plan and no message discipline. &nbsp;Ultimately, you can't win as a clown show. The incumbents can, but outsiders have to prove they are comprehensively better by every measure if they want to get over the finish line. Credibility is key, which you can't obtain when your platform is a collection of simplistic and half-baked populist tropes. Worse still, if it ever did win power, the lack of realism and planning would cause it to fail inside a year, and it would accomplish nothing very much, and nothing that can't be reversed with ease by a successor.&nbsp;So ultimately, we're going to end up investing a lot of time an energy in something that can't win, but prevents something better from emerging. The most it can do is "shift the dial" on political discourse, but we've been here before. The lesson you should have learned from Brexit is that the establishment has an unswerving ability to revert to business as usual when there is no serious threat to their incumbency.&nbsp;The second strategy, is as a pressure group party, in which case, the party should not be contesting seats where there are sensible conservatives like Jenrick and Cates. You'd want to focus your campaigning resources on eliminating the worst of the wets. But there's no actual strategy in play. Farage seems to think Reform can break through into parliament and cause right wing Tories to defect, to then become a replacement party under his leadership.But that's not going to happen. If Tory MPs survive this latest purge, then they are safe as safe gets in politics. They are not going to risk their careers. Moreover, the parliamentary presence of Reform will be a dysfunctional nest of infighting, and will be an unvetted embarrassment. If there is any serious talent in the Reform ranks, they'll be openly at war with Farage within weeks. It's all so wearily predictable.&nbsp;The high watermark for Reform, at best, will be to perhaps double its parliamentary presence in 2029, but as a widely ridiculed band of boomer cranks, that even Farage himself will be quietly embarrassed of. They are then gradually picked off, until they're wiped off the board by a resurgent Tory party in 2034.&nbsp;This would be a useful exercise if Reform/Farage was able to utilise the leverage, by insisting the Tories adopt some of their policies, but Reform doesn't have policies. It has half-baked sound bites. The Tories will throw him a few scraps from the table, but it won't be comprehensive Reform. At most, we might leave the ECHR and bring immigration down to 200k a year, but we won't get anything that addresses the dysfunction in our politics, and they'll replace the ECHR system with a domestic replica, where previous ECHR jurisprudence is the standard (applied by the exact same judges).What we actually need is a (r)eform party with a major reform agenda to rebuild the state from the ground up, in its own image, along the lines of the party's own philosophical foundation. <h3>We need a movement with big ambitions, a blueprint for reform, and one that has already worked out the details, and anticipated the resistance tactics well in advance. That way, should it acquire serious leverage, it can propose something of lasting value.&nbsp;</h3>That, though, is not going to happen under a Farage-led entity. He will march his troops into battle without rifles, just to be mercilessly cut down, and when the going gets tough, he will claim victory, bug out, and wash his hands of it, just like he did last time. The man doesn't learn, and he doesn't change, and for as long as the political territory is occupied by him, nothing of value can emerge - and then we're back at square one in 2034, with a deadbeat Tory party, replacement levels of immigration, an economy as broken as ever it was, and no hope of correcting it through the vote.

Is Reform a disaster waiting to happen?

Real Democracy MPs will raise taxes** &nbsp; Labour, Conservative and LibDems all promise not to increase income tax or NI - when they really do not know what trade-offs are involved or what the future holds. &nbsp; However, we all know that such promises from the usual suspects from Labour, Conservative or LibDem&nbsp; are easily forgotten (tuition fees, Nick?) if they plead “extraordinary circumstances" - which they will always be able to contrive on demand. RealDemocracy.uk warns in advance you that it may be necessary to propose to raise taxes to support crucial public services.&nbsp;** HOWEVER, in accordance with the WOTE Federation pledge, this decision will be subject to the Will of the Electorate. WOTE electors will be canvassed using our secure voting system, and that decision will be enacted.<h3>When you elect an independent&nbsp; candidate that supports the WOTE pledge, then you and your vote will be counted many more times than once every five years,</h3>

At what moment did Boris pass the point of no return? Most realised a long time ago that he was a "loose cannon"; we had seen his popular act as mayor of London, where his ebullient charm had successfully managed and navigated the Conservative Party's famously "broad church". We just prayed the ebullient buffoon could be contained; his foibles were "priced in" - but always presented obvious attack opportunities for those waiting to kick the stool out from under. Such a character was always going to be vulnerable to being undone by his many jealous detractors, but he was not ruthlessly managed and shielded by an Alistair Campbell. Quite the opposite, his own cabinet secretary <a data-mce-href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-59979023" href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-59979023" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sue Gray couldn't wait to jump ship to support Labour</a>. The Tory death wish knows few bounds.&nbsp;Also keep in mind that the visceral hatred of frustrated EU remainers has never gone away, where Boris remains the #1 hate figure and revenge target. They are still quietly convinced that they will be able to engineer a return to Brussels servitude soon enough. And so the BBC which is a bastion of EUphilia has been able to manoeuvre their soul mates of the spiteful left into an unassailable election lead. The Marxists have been allowed to hide in the closet without facing a proper examination.
